The Immigrant Council of Ireland has undertaken a critique of the Immigration, Residence and Protection Bill 2010, focusing on key areas of concern. This submission, which was sent to all TDs and Senators, looks at: provisions allowing for summary deportations; limitation of access to justice for migrants; insufficient protections for victims of human trafficking; failure to provide a permanent immigration status; lack of rights to family reunification; failure to set out clear rules in primary legislation; and, administrative fees.
