The Immigrant Council of Ireland has presented to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Constitution and called on it to examine ways to extend voting rights to migrants who are established residents in the State. The ICI pointed out the difficulties in obtaining Irish citizenship disenfranchised many well-established migrants in Ireland.
