ICI Pre-Election Submission 2010 - Contributing to the Development of Party Manifestos

This document has been developed by the Immigrant Council of Ireland to assist political parties in the development of their manifestos for the forthcoming general election and programme for government thereafter.  The document sets out 10 priority areas for reform, including:  clear, fair immigration rules and processes; real action for tackling sex trafficking in Ireland and a better response to victims of this crime; the need to address inequality of access to education for the children of migrants; a call to allow judges to consider a racist motive as an aggravating circumstance when sentencing criminals and the need for a more collaborative to working with NGOs.
