Submission to the Government review of minimum wages set in low paid sectors

The ICI made a submission to the Government in support of the campaign by the Coalition to Protect the Lowest Paid to challenge the reduction to the minimum wage which was introduced as part of the Government's National Recovery Plan in November, 2010.  The ICI called for no cut or reduction  to workers' wages and conditions set by Employment Regulation Orders and for the the Government to maintain the Joint Labour Committee mechanism of social dialogue between workers and employers for determining wages and conditions of EROs.
