Information & Support

The Immigrant Council of Ireland’s Information and Support Service is staffed by Information Officers and volunteers who have a thorough understanding of Ireland’s immigration system. Currently, information and support can be provided in 13 languages in addition to English and Irish.

The Information and Support Service can help with enquiries about:

  • family reunification

  • EU citizens’ rights to freedom of movement

  • citizenship and long-term residency

  • work permits/green card permits

  • student visas

  • tourist visas/visitors’ visas

  • trafficking

  • permission to remain

  • regularisation of immigration status

  • business permission

  • deportation

We can refer people to the appropriate organisation for information on:

  • accommodation

  • social welfare

  • healthcare

  • domestic violence

  • employment

  • voluntary return programmes

  • equality legislation

  • asylum
