Workshops on Migrant Political Participation

The Immigrant Council will be delivering a series of workshops on political participation for migrant communities between March and July 2023. The sessions involve learning the different types of elections in Ireland; who is eligible to vote; the function of the local government and local councillors; political parties in Ireland and the electoral system.

Latin American Community in Ireland (in Spanish) took place on Thursday 9th March from 7 am - 8:30 pm. You can watch the recorded session here.
Ukrainian and Russian Speaking communities will be in-person on Thurs. 23rd March at 11 am at the Local Library in Portarlington, Laois. You can register here.
Cantonese community in Ireland will be online on Tues. 28th March at 8 pm. You can register here.
Mongolian Community in Ireland will be in-person on Sat 1st April at St Andrews Resource Centre (Dublin, D02 PR44) from 2:30 pm - 4:40 pm. You can register here.
Brazilian Community in Ireland will be online in April (date and time - TBC).
Leitrim – migrant Community will be in-person on Sat 15th April at 11 am at the Dock (Carrick-On-Shannon). You can register Here.
Irish Traveller Community will be in-person on Monday 22nd May at Southside Travellers Action Group - Sandyford at 11:00 am. You can register here.
Galway – Migrant Community will be in-person on Monday 29th May from 10:30 am -12:30 pm at the Board Room of the PorterShed (15 Market St, Galway, H91 TCX3). You can register here.
