Blathnaid graduated from the University of Limerick in 2015 with an LLB in Law with a minor in Economics. While in UL she won the UL Law School Negotiation Competition and completed her final year project on ‘Deaths of Prisoners while in the Custody of the Irish Prison Service’. She completed a postgraduate diploma in International Human Rights Law and Public Policy from University College Cork in 2016. Blathnaid completed internships during her studies in the ESB, Legal Department and Brophy Solicitors, Immigration Department, as well as a year’s co-op in Holmes O’Malley Sexton Solicitors, a general practice law firm. Blathnaid worked as the Legal Assistant in Berkeley Solicitors, a niche Immigration Law Firm based in Dublin, where she gained her interest and knowledge in Irish immigration matters. She joined the Immigrant Council of Ireland in February 2018.
