We’re launching a Migrant Leadership Academy & we need YOU!
Our 2017/2018 Migrant Leadership Academy will support young migrant men and women in campaigning and working for positive social change in their communities.
Are you from a migrant background?
Are you interested in effecting social change?
Then we want to hear from YOU!
In the face of rising anti-immigrant movements across Europe and the US, Ireland now, more than ever, needs an organised movement of migrants and refugees to ensure that the message of hate will not resonate in our society. Brexit and the election of Donald Trump in the United States proved just how easily the issues of migration and integration can be transformed into politics of hostility and even violence.
We are seeking people like you to join the Migrant Leadership Academy to help us explore ways of organising communities to create social and political change through collective action. The aim is to empower migrant and refugee communities to ensure your voices are more strongly heard on issues affecting you. The Academy will facilitate discussion and support the development of ideas and theories of how to bring people together, and build bridges between communities to work collectively on common issue.
You can find out more about the Leadership Academy and how to apply here. We will be accepting applications until 30 September 2017.
